Below is all the necessary information to get free government grants for any purpose!

The key to obtaining a Grant is preparation and knowledge about funding sources. Preparation means identifying the agency/foundation that makes Grants for your particular need and determining if you fall within their restrictions. We have provided for you hundreds upon hundreds of sources for you to review. These sources will be invaluable to you in locating thousands of sources of free money. Remember if you don't qualify don't apply. There are so many agencies the likelihood you will qualify for a Grant is good. When you find a source that you feel you qualify for, call or send them a proposal (we recommend reading "Grant Writing Guide" first). Fill out applications when possible and applicable. They will respond back and give you additional help.

How do I apply?
Please follow the guidelines below to apply for assistance:
Step 1 Browse our directories to locate assistance programs which are suitable to your needs.
Step 2

Determine a means of approach for making an application by considering:

  • Program Objectives and Uses
  • Type of Assistance Needed
  • Eligibility Requirements
  • Application Procedure Required
Step 3 Check for an application deadline.
Step 4 Contact the agency to find out:
  • Applicability of your proposal or project.
  • Availability of funds or assistance.
  • Answers to any questions you may have.
Step 5 Apply to the funding agency for assistance. For additional information on how to do this, refer to the Grant Writing Guide.

When you contact a foundation, include a self-addressed, stamped envelope (SASE) with requests for information.

Phone numbers, addresses, programs, and contact individuals can change. Every Directory even your phone book is out of date as soon as it is published. Although every attempt has been made to verify and update every listing immediately before publication you may find some listings have changed.

If you are calling a Federal or State Government Agency and find they have changed phone numbers you can get the new number by calling the relevant Federal or State Information Center. The Federal phone number is 1-800- 688-9889.

If you are calling a Private Foundation and get a wrong number you can call the information operator for the area by dialing 1, then the area code, followed by 555 -1212 and ask for the new number.

We wish the best of luck in your search. Remember you need to be persistent. Also remember, we are constantly looking to add more and more links and services. So revisit us from time to time if you are continuing your search.
