• Arkansas Student Assistance Grant Program is a need-based grant awarded to students by each institution. The maximum annual award is $600. Apply using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA): http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/.
  
  
• Arkansas Health Education Grant Program (ARHEG) provides financial assistance to students seeking professional training in chiropractic medicine, dentistry, optometry, osteopathic medicine, podiatric medicine, and veterinary medicine to allow them to attend out-of-state institutions.
  
  
• Academic Challenge Scholarship awards up to $2500 annually for graduating high school seniors who complete the pre-collegiate core curriculum, have 2.50 grade point average in those courses, achieve a 19 on the ACT, and demonstrate financial need.
  
  
• Governor’s Scholars Program awards up to $4000 annually for graduating high school seniors based on academic achievement, test score and leadership. The Governor’s Distinguished Scholarship for those scoring 32 on the ACT, 1410 on the SAT, or are named National Merit Finalists. Pays tuition, mandatory fees, room and board.
  
  
• Emergency Secondary Education Loan awards up to $2500 annually for individuals seeking teacher certification in designated shortage areas. Must teach in Arkansas for 5 years to have the loan forgiven.
  
  
• Minority Teachers Scholarship awards up to $5000 annually for African-American, Asian-American, and Hispanic college juniors and seniors working toward teacher certification. Must teach 3 or 5 years in Arkansas to have the amount received forgiven.
  
  
• Freshman/Sophomore Minority Grant Program awards $1000 annual stipend for African-American, Asian-American, and Hispanic college freshman and sophomores. Designed to encourage these students to enter teaching.
  
  
• MIA/KIA Dependents Scholarship Program is a waiver of tuition, fees, room and board at any public college or university in Arkansas for dependents and spouses of Arkansans who were killed or missing in action or who were prisoners of war.
  
  
• Law Enforcement Dependent’s Scholarship Program provides waiver of tuition, fees, and room at any public college or university in Arkansas for dependents and spouses of Arkansas law enforcement officers and some Highway and Transportation Department employees.
  
  
• Second Effort Scholarship awards up to $1000 annually to the individuals with the top 10 scores on the GED exam during the previous calendar year.
  
  
• Teacher and Administrator Grant Program reimburses certified teachers and administrators for coursework taken during the summer terms.
  
  
• Minority Masters Fellows Program awards up to $7500 for one year or three summers for African-American, Asian-American, and Hispanic students entering a masters program in mathematics, the sciences, or foreign languages, and Minority Teacher Scholarship recipients in the fifth year of a five year teacher certification program.

• North Dakota Scholars Program
  North Dakota’s best and brightest high school graduates receive a financial incentive to remain in North Dakota for college thanks to the North Dakota Scholars Program.
  
  
• Technology Occupations Student Loan Program
  The Technology Occupations Student Loan Program will reduce student loan indebtedness by up to $1,000 per year up to a maximum of five years for those who have graduated in a technology related field, completed an internship with a business located in North Dakota, and been employed in a technology occupation in North Dakota for one year.

  The Teacher Scholarship Shortage Loan Forgiveness Program will reduce student loan indebtedness by up to $1,000 per year up to a maximum of five years for those who teach at a grade level or in a content area identified as a teacher shortage area by the superintendent of public instruction.

  The North Dakota Indian Scholarship assists American Indian students in obtaining a college education by providing scholarships ranging in amount from $700 to $2000 per year.
  
  
• Tuition Waivers Available at NDUS Institutions
  Senior citizens, peace officers, and fire fighters are just some of the groups of students who are eligible for tuition or other fees to be waived for some programs if certain conditions are met.
  
  
• ND State Student Incentive Grant Program
  The SSIG program, also known as the State Grant program, provides need-based grants for North Dakota college students.

  • Oklahoma Tuition Aid Grant Program: Awards grants to Oklahoma students who need money to meet part of the cost of attending college. Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

  • Academic Scholars Program: Awards scholarships to students with high academic performance who plan to attend an Oklahoma public or private college or university.
  • Oklahoma Higher Learning Access Program: Awards scholarships to students in families earning less than $50,000 per year who have demonstrated a commitment to academic success in high school. Students who plan to participate in this scholarship program must enroll in the program in the 8th, 9th, or 10th grade.
  • Regional University Baccalaureate Scholarship: Awards scholarships based on academic merit to Oklahoma residents who plan to attend an Oklahoma regional university.
  • Robert C. Byrd Scholarship Program: Awards scholarships to Oklahoma students who plan to attend an Oklahoma college or university based on their potential for continued academic excellence and achievement.
    
    
• Specialized Financial Aid
  • Future Teachers Scholarship Program: Awards scholarships to outstanding Oklahoma students who want to teach in the areas of special education, counseling, library/media, science, early childhood education, speech/language pathology, foreign language, language arts and math.
  • Heartland Scholarship Fund: Awards scholarships to dependent children of victims of the April 19, 1995 bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City. These awards cover the cost of tuition, fees, special fees, books, and room and board.
  • Independent Living Act (Department of Human Services Tuition Waiver) Awards tuition waivers to eligible individuals who have been or are in the Oklahoma Department of Human Services foster care program.
  • National Guard Tuition Waiver: Awards scholarships to National Guard members and enlistees who want to earn a bachelor’s degree at an Oklahoma public college or university.
  • Oklahoma Teacher Enhancement Program - Awards stipends to resident teachers who participate in a study designed to evaluate teacher preparation programs at Oklahoma's public universities.
  • Smart Start for Brain Gain 2010: Statewide Americorps program that recruits, trains, and places mentors and tutors in Oklahoma schools and communities. Smart Start members can earn Education Awards that can be applied to current or future college costs to repay qualified student loans.
  • Teacher Shortage Employment Incentive Program (TSEIP) - TSEIP is a legislative program that reimburses eligible student loan expenses or pays an equivalent cash benefit to individuals who graduate from an Oklahoma accredited teacher education program, receive teaching certification in math or science and agree to teach in an Oklahoma public secondary school for at least five years.
